Very Special Valentine.......

Another preview for Waltzingmouse Stamps Valentine set, following today's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers!! I love this valentine - just a little different and quite a colourful one at that!

I inked up the Very Vintage Labels No. 4 frame with Spring Rain ink and stamped it onto white cardstock.

Then I stamped only the top and bottom part of the sentiment-- leaving the words "very special" inkless--  with Vivid Straw ink and stamped it into the middle of the frame.

Using one of my Versamagic chalk teardrop red inks (so easy to manipulate that small size!) I inked up the "very special" and lined up the sentiment to stamp it in place!

I stamped each size of heart - small, medium and large with all three colours of inks and then proceeded to spend the better part of the afternoon deciding which heart colour should go where - I am so undecided that way lol! But I think I made the right choice!

Are you ready for New Year's Eve?!! We are having our family over, fighting for kitchen space
 Smiley from millan.net
and bar-b-queing steak and potatoes - yes we are crazy being as it will be 0 degrees outside - but there is nothing better than bar-b-que in the middle of winter!! (Easy for me to say - I won't be the one freezing my better parts off lol!)

I would just like to thank each and everyone of you for making my year so wonderful and bright!! I love to stamp and show my stuff and I am so happy that you like to come and see it!

Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve - travel safe and see you next year!!

I just love you.......

Isn't that the most wonderful sentiment?  It is just so simple and to the point and no explanation is needed and let's face it....sometimes it's hard to find a reason! HAH!! (I'm sure that goes both ways....)

I just love you....

This sentiment and these hearts are from Waltzingmouse Stamps new Valentine release that will be out on January 4, only a few short days away!!

I made a happy discovery when my EK Success large and medium heart punch and my Fiskars scalloped heart punch both worked equally well, with the large and medium heart stamps in this Waltzingmouse Stamps Valentine stamp set!

There is even a smaller heart stamp, arrows and several wonderful lovey dovey sentiments, that you will be seeing more of as the week goes on!!

I used the sketch from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge this week, and even managed to finish it before the week was up lol!

Thank you so much for coming around for a visit today - I know you are so busy cleaning up your holiday stuff and organizing all your gifts and wrapping! I truly appreciate you stopping in during this busy season!!

Birthday Wishes....

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday after Christmas!

I hope your holidays were and are magical and that you don't have toooo much cleaning up to do!!

It seems like we are still finding bits of tissue paper that our dog has carted off throughout the house lol! She is a Miniature Schnauzer and a terror but a sweetheart at the same time - how can that be??!! lol!

This is a card that I put together a couple of weeks ago for #50 of Mercy's sketch challenges. Of course I didn't get it uploaded in time but here it is now!

I used the cute little The Greeting Farm stamp from the Hope & Grace series called Snuggle.....and coloured her up with copics.

I used the Basic Grey Nook & Pantry 6 x 6 paper pack for my papers along with Papertrey Ink Stampers Select White and Dark Chocolate.

I added a semi circle of Zva Creative Clear Crystals and tied some Melon Berry ribbon with a little sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages on a Cuttlebug tag!!

Now that our mail is back on schedule I am expecting a few stamping parcels to come through that i had wanted for Christmas - oh well, such fun to open more- yay!

Correspondence......masculine style...

How are your Christmas preparations coming along? Turkey bought? Presents wrapped? Are you all caught up? I am feeling so organized that I am sure that I must have forgotten something lol!

Try not to stress too much. It should be a time for peace and tranquility and family and friends.....yep....

I put together a quick little project for the masculine side of the family.

Hubby is a deer hunter - yes I know, I used to hate the thought of him out there killing Bambi, until I hit one with my car. They are really over run around here - pretty but dangerous!

Anyway, he hunts in a group with six friends, a
nd every year they keep records, records that are only on little slips of paper stuffed in an envelope (men!)

I thought it would be nice for him to have a little notebook to keep those records in. I wanted to add a pretty pink bow - just kidding......

I used Little Box Labels (Nestability Friendly - yay!) from Waltzingmouse Stamps and stamped the main image in Memento Rich Cocoa and cut it out with my Labels Five Nestabilities.

I used a button rather than one of the cute images - I thought he might appreciate that more around the men.... HAH!

Just look at that gorgeous herringbone pattern - I love it! I stamped the whole herringbone border and then cut it to use only one of the strips.

I obviously didn't ink up the stamp very well the first time I used it, but decided to use that part anyway, since it is going to be stored in the hunting parlour (!) and I loved the rough and tough look of it!

I scored the Dark Chocolate paper in a manly grid, to add a bit of a pattern to the book. I really am happy with how it turned out and I think hubby will be too!

My daughter and I are baking our cookies today, Lime Meltaways - delicious and Crackle Soda Chocolates - I will leave the recipe at a later time!!

Keep it Clean....

Good morning!

This week's
Little Paper Shop challenge is brought to you by ME!! and since we are all so busy this time of year, I have challenged the other design team members to a one layer, clean and simple card!

Of course I found it hard to follow my own challenge - clean and simple is a toughie for me, but I did mange it somewhat - still had to have a layer or two but not too bad! lol!

I used {I Heart} for my image and sentiment -- I love those little heart shaped dandelion wishes!

If you would like to enter the challenge, you may win the set {For You}!! Just go to the Little Paper Shop blog for all the details!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #38!

Well, good Sunday morning to you and welcome to another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge! Everyone is invited to play along in the challenge and if you do, be sure to link your creation to Mr. Linky on the Hope Stamps Eternal blog.

Every week, Rachel picks the top 5 links and highlights them on the blog!! If you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use this week's keyword: CIC38.

Here is this week's cupcake picture - oh my just look at all those gorgeous reds and greens - glorious Christmas colours!! Wouldn't your tongue just look hideous? lol!

Well, I still had some stamped images of Vivi from The Greeting Farm line of stamps, laying on my desk and I needed a Christmas tag for a gorgeous VAT of jelly beans for Holly's math teacher, so I coloured her up for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #38!

I apologize for the lousy photo, it was early morning when we were leaving and I had not got a picture yet........thus the crapola dark picture!

I coloured her up with my copics, adding Icicle stickles to the white part of her hat ! So pretty and shimmery!

I added a Zva Creative Crystal Snowflake to the tag since it is winter and all - and these crystals are just gorgeous! - so bright and ...well, crystally!! - for lack of a
better word! lol!

The designer paper is from Basic Grey June Bug - some of those papers in that 6x6 paper pad are gorgeous Christmas colours! AND the new Basic Grey papers and accessories are in at the store - Origins and Sugar Rush!!

Take a red, green and white ride over to the other Design Team members blogs - and don't forget to pop into The Red Haired Girl! Elena is our guest designer this month!!

Beanie Gift Card Holder

The Try A New Technique challenge on Splitcoaststampers was this cute little beanie hat/cardholder. My friend Carolina had an awesome tutorial for it, so I had to make one!

The directions are super simple to follow, but of course, the crop-a-dile devil made me use it the wrong way, so my beanie won't open to reveal the gift card - but I can fix that later.

I am off to finish up some Christmas shopping, (hopefully) so wish me luck. I hope everyone else stayed home.....

Another Home Made Christmas......

ETA: the Picket Fence was actually Prism cardstock and not Papertrey Ink cardstock - apologies to Martha Stewart's punches....

I made this little house before I received the Home Made stamp set .

I had already impatiently downloaded the house template from
Papertrey Ink and I wanted to make the little house so badly that I went ahead and made my own doors and windows - rather crude but still sweet on my fireplace mantel!

The windows are all cut from Spellbinders square nestabilities and I know you can tell that I drew in the window panes lol!

The litle toppers on the windows are just circle nestabilities cut in half and then the cut edge was cut again with scalloped nestabilities.

I loved Nichole's idea of adding ferns at the windows of her house, so I copied that idea and then added a Stamping Bella Ruby Red Bella BonBon to each bunch of fern.

Debbie Olson had added the gorgeous ribbon to the front of her house and I thought that was so elegant that of course I had to copy that part too - My name is Bonnie and I am a Case-a-holic Smiley from millan.net

I also loved the idea of the fence so thank you Martha Stewart for having a punch that actually cut through the Papertrey Ink cardstock.......Smiley from millan.netteehee.....

FS149 - Merry Christmas!

Sunday's featured Stamper Challenge featured Pam124 - congratulations Pam!!

I chose to case this card because I LOVE the white and gold this year - so pretty!

The changes I chose to make were - use a square base
- use a different stamp set - use a different Spellbinders die for the background.

The stamp is from the Waltzingmouse Stamp set Very Vintage Christmas and I stamped it in Fresh Snow ink right onto the Metallic gold leaf cardstock from Flourishes and then clear embossed it- love the look!

We are off to battle the shoppers today - hubby is grumbling already about spending money Smiley from millan.netso I guess I will have to drag him by the ear and show him prices - again - they forget so easy Smiley from millan.net

Baked? .......or Half Baked?

Good Monday morning to you!

We had our very first family Christmas celebration yesterday and celebrated at a beautiful old mansion called Elmhurst Inn, located in Southern Ontario - absolutely gorgeous and a great place to dine if you are ever there!

It is about 1- 1/2 hour drive from our home and of course, why would we leave an extra minute early?? We all get packed up into my car - my old faithful Pontiac Torrent,- and it wouldn't start!!

So my son cleans out his '92 Buick Skylark, Smiley from millan.netit runs like a freakin' top and away we go, my hubby and I in the back seat (hubby loved that!Smiley from millan.net ) and my son and daughter chauffering mom and dad! Too funny!

Ah well, this week's Little Paper Shop challenge is brought to you by our fearless DT co-ordinator Jessica, who unbelievably says she is leaving us this week ACCKK! can't believe she would dare, but she has another calling so we wish her good luck at her new venture .......and onways and upwards and all that rot!

Pam Varnell, who is now a full fledge Little Paper Shopper, is going to take good care of us so we don't go wandering away and get lost in the woods....thank you Pam!!

Jessica has challenged us to create a card using some sort of baking theme.

Well, I believe this {Still Hot Granny} IS half-baked, so that is how I took the theme this week! lol!

I hope you like it and if you would like to meet this challenge you may end up winning the stamp set {I Heart} - FUN!!

Please take a look at the other Design Team members blog to see how they have interpreted this Baking Challenge!!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #37

Good Sunday morning to you all! and welcome to another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge!

Everyone is invited to play along in the challenge and if you do, be sure to link
your creation to Mr. Linky on the Hope Stamps Eternal blog.

Every week, Rachel picks the top 5 links and highlights them on the blog!! If you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use this week's keyword: CIC37.

Here is this week's cupcake picture - oh my aren't those little snowmen the cutest??? I just want to smush them into my mouth and eat them all down and savor the gorgeousness of all that frosting and gorgeous sprinkles candy Smiley from millan.net ....oops .... lost my train of thought.....

I decided to take my inspiration from the gorgeous pinks and fluffy whites - and when I was making this card I really wanted to use aqua for the ribbon and glittery present - but green was on my mind so that is what happened!

I used one of The Greeting Farm images which I see has been scooped up - man they are so popular you have to get them fast! There are a few more images that are just as sweet in the store, so make sure you get them while they last!

I paper pieced this sweet little girlie with the NEW Bella Blvd December Details Collection 12x12 Paper Pack - so gorgeous with all the beautiful greens and reds and pinks! yum!

In between the paper piecing I coloured with copics and then added some ribbon I had in my stash and also added some Stamping UP chunky glitter - the jury (me) is still out on this stuff - it kind of took on a mind of its own when I applied the glue with my Sakura Quickie glue pen. Any tips would be appreciated!!

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Communique Curves which I love - lots of love lately lol!

The background panel has been run through the Cuttlebug Candy Cane embossing folder - which I am also luvin' lately - my goodness I love everything Christmas - quite a change from the humbugger I was a couple of weeks ago!
Please make sure to take a frostry stroll Smiley from millan.netover to the other designer's blogs to see how they interprested these scrumptious cupcakes!!
