Happy Hallowe'en and a winner (finally)!

Just thought I would pop in and show you my Hallowe'en bags that we are giving way today at our house.

We only have two children and those are my grandchildren - so I can kind of load them up - I also make sure I make the bags up before I eat all the candy - a hazard at Hallowe'en - and you know what I am talking about!!

I used the Waltzingmouse stamp set Hallowe'en Party, and just stamped around the kraft bag in Memento Tuxedo Black ink....  The tag was easy as pie, of course, and I just tied a black ribbon at the handle!

I did NOT forget about my blog candy as I know you are thinking - hehe....just busy making things - love it!

The winner of the stamp sets is Wendy ten Hove!! Congratulations!! Please send me you mailing address and I will ship this over the ocean asap!!

Compliments of the Season....

Good day and welcome to another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

The sketch challenge will remain open until Thursday, 11:59 EST. You can link up your entry on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog. Top Mice will be announced along with the new sketch next Saturday! Be sure to visit the blog and check out what the other DT members and Mischief Makers have created for the sketch challenge!

Here is this week's sketch - I love the cute little pocket!!

For my card I just happened to have the PTI pocket die and so I used that with the beautiful Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6 x 6 paper pad.....love the muted colours of this designer paper!

I cut a tag out of kraft cardstock and then stamped it with Fresh Snow ink using one of the Text-It backgrounders.

The poinsettia, from Big Blooms-Poinsettia, was stamped with Fresh Snow ink over top of the backgrounder and then the sentiment, from Compliments of the Season, was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink - sort of on a tilt with a few little blingetty baubles following.

I sewed around the edges of my card base and added a piece of designer paper cut out with the Labels 14 Spellbinders Die.

The little tag just tucks right in!

This card also fits right in with Moxie Fab's Sweater Weather Challenge! Check it out - I LOVE the colours - (although red wasn't one of them oops!!)

Thanks for coming around today and hopefully I can get some of my Christmas cards caught up and I will post a bit more often.

Did I mention that my daughter and I are doing three craft shows this fall!! Well, it turned into FOUR and now we have got ourselves into doing invitations for a Township Christmas party yay!! Lots of fun things to keep us busy!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Good morning and welcome to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and without further adieu, here is this week's sketch!
I love that middle panel with the tag!

Here is what I made - sideways!

Using one of the frames from Holiday Labels No.14, I stamped it with Versamark and then embossed with fine gold embossing powder.....it really shows the text doesn't it?

The sentiment is, of course, from Compliments of the Season, one of our best sellers this year!

The Spellbinders tag is also stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold.  The little poinsettia on the tag is from Big Blooms - Poinsettias!

October Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz!!

Don't you just love the logo this month for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz ?? All crisp and Autumn-y with all the beautiful colours - yellows, browns, oranges - all just gorgeous!!

I can just smell the apples now - of course it could be because of the apple core I found under the couch this morning........my grandchildren have been here for a few days and it is really funny all the things I am coming across that I wouldn't otherwise lol!

Stepped on a dinky car last night in the dark trying to make my way to the  Smiley from millan.net
bathroom..........the wet diaper the dog dragged out of the garbage.......and the sippy cup that went bounce bounce bouncing down the stairs when the children were having their nap ......like I said all sorts of fun!! .....one more sleep....

Sorry....back to the waltz!! This month's theme is Autumn/Harvest!

I have been working on a lot of sympathy cards lately....it seems that we need them and I don't like that.....but I do enjoy having a stack of them around......here are my results....I used Autumn colours for my theme......

Thanks for coming around and I hop you are enjoying the hop!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Good morning..... I still have the grandchildren here and am slightly losing it LOL! They are precious AND busy!

It is time once again for Waltzingmouse Stamps sketch challenge! We would love for you to play along - any stamp will do - just follow the sketch and add your link on the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge blog!  Easy Peasy!

I didn't have time to do a busy card but this sketch didn't call for busy if you didn't want it - perfect for me this week.....

Here is my take on the sketch - which is at the bottom of this post - for some reason blogger wouldn't let me post it up here.....Smiley from millan.net

Really nothing to it - just a few die cut snowflakes on top of a Swiss Dot Cuttlebug background  and the sentiment from Compliments of the Season stamped in white and embossed with white embossing powder.

I tried clear embossing powder over white ink and it really didn't show up very well, thus the white embossing powder.

And here is the sketch ........silly blogger!

Have you missed Me?

So sorry for the delay in posting this week. I have the grandchildren for a few days so I don't have time to do anything it seems......all for the love of them of course!!

It really is fun watching them play with the dog and making sure she doesn't nip, climbing up and down the stairs and trying to prevent a fall, or running around outside - washing up after the mud!.

I can make the cards after they go to bed but absolutely no time to take pictures, let alone post anything lol!.....how did I ever have time to do anything when my three kids were small lol!

Here is a little bit of eye candy for you - some Papertrey Ink Color Couture cards.....hubby took Jake to a farm dealership this morning and Holly is over playing with Robin......3 minutes to myself yay!!

I think I may have been highy influenced by Dawn McVey and her beautiful Color Couture cards -

Thanks for sticking with me and have a great day!!

Oh don't forget about the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz on October 17th - you are so welcome to join in - see all the details here!!

I am reviewing the stamp called Moodie for Computers and inked up my stamp and the sentiment and using my  SEI Jocelyn papers and  set out to make my card - very simple design this month - I am so busy with harvest (real harvest - not Farmville lol!!)

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team and their fabulous creations!!

And thank you for supporting me with my Paper Makeup Stamps .....this is my last post for PSM.....I think I over extended myself with Design Teams the past few months and I just couldn't give it my all.....so I have asked to be let go from PMS......sad but necessary!!

For a Sweet Little Girl....

This week's My Favorite Things challenge was to "Play Dress-up!"!

I chose to use Emma Playing Mommy and created a scene using all MFT's dies - aren't I clever?? lol!Smiley from millan.net

I stamped Emma with Memento Tuxedo black and coloured her with my copic markers. Then I cut her out and topped her onto my card base made up of Stephanie Fizer papers - Sheltering Tree.

I used the MFT tree die-namic - sprayed with Tattered Angels Leather mist, the grass die, sun die and rolled flower die...

Not much news today......Canadian Thanksgiving is on Sunday, and I have to take dessert, so I bought some blueberries and I am going to make a blueberry pudding, buy some pumpkin pies (yeh I don't make pies)Smiley from millan.net

and I think Holly is making a pumpkin spice cake with Miracle Whip in it - I know it sounds weird - so we will see!

WMS October Release Blog Waltz!

Welcome bloggers!! It's Waltzingmouse Release day and as per usual we have our Blog Waltz for you!! yay!! Waltzingmouse Stamps has 5 new stamp sets that we are releasing today and all of them are full of fun and gorgeousness!!

Don't forget to leave a comment on Claire's Blog so you could win a stamp set PLUS the designer's blogs for another chance to win a stamp set!!  yeehaw!!

If you have waltzed here from Sandie's Blog then you are on the right dance floor! If you have just joined us then you  may want to go back to the beginning at Claire's blog so that you miss nothing!!
Today I am previewing the new set, available today, Holiday Labels No. 14!

I paired it with my new paper from Sassafras Lass called Indie Girl! The designer paper has a beautiful little border along the bottom of it, so I made sure that I used that for the edge of my card.

I also used Ripe Avocado ink to stamp one of the text stamps from Text It, right onto the designer paper - love this look!

I stamped the label in Colorbox Blue Iris chalk ink and then cut it out with my Labels Fourteen die from Spellbinders.
The sentiment is from Words of Wisdom, an already released and highly loved stamp set!
I inked up the edges with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo distress inks and then did the same with the designer paper.
I popped up the label with pop dots and then added some Fabric tape along the bottom - just a straight piece and I also pleated some for a little bit of flair! A button with twine finished it off!

For my next project, I was truly inspired by my design partner, Julia, and her cards from the first peek day!
Using Frame It, I stamped the frame, sentiment and small tree in the same colour on each of four cards.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the frame can be cut out with a Square Nestabilities die.
Using the coordinating cardstock, and the next largest die, I cut out the background and adhered the stamped image to the cardstock.

Of course, then it was simple to add it to a 4" x 4" card base and simple - a little gaggle of note cards!

Thank you waltzing around to my blog this week and leaving all of your lovely comments and don't forget to leave one today - it is especially important if you wish to have a chance at winning a stamp set!

Now you are off to Lynn's Blog!! Have fun!

Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop Release!!

Good morning and welcome to the Paper Makeup Stamps October Release hop!! Don't forget that tonight is our release party in our forum - so please try to come around and chat with us and say hello!

As per usual, we have a little letter search game for you - gather up every letter from the hop, put together the phrase, and that is your code to receive 15% off this month's releases!! yay!! or is that eh!!  OR IS THAT "A"!!!

If you are just coming from Dawn's Blog you are on the right track. If you just popped in to say hi, well hello! and you may want to start at the beginning of our hop, which would be at the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog so that you don't miss a delicious thing!!

Let me introduce you to Jenny Fairy, a sweet little fairy who is having a little trouble with her weight - ah! - this could be me!

I love the little sentiment - just what a girl needs to hear.....

I have always felt like I have had weight issues all my life - right from the get go - but when I look at pictures of years ago I don't see any weight problem at all! Isn't that weird how our minds work?!  So I am just going to keep thinking that way -"I bet I look mahhhhvelous" LOL!!

I used the lovely SEI papers called Jocelyn and sewed them together onto Ocean Tides cardstock for my base.

I didn't receive my stamps in time this month, so this is a digi image that I am using, which is why her face may have a couple of little black streaks in it!

I coloured her with my copics and then cut her out with the tall, oval Spellbinders nestabilities.

I then added a beautiful Prima flower to finish off the card!! Isn't she sweet??!!

Okay now you are on your way to follow the blog and your next stop is Lisa!!

Waltzingmouse Sneak Peek - Day 2!

Good day!! How did you like the first day of Waltzingmouse Stamps release peeks?! I think it is going well no?

Today I am going to show you the set "Text It" so that it is front and center!

I think I told you in a previous post that I received some of the new Spellbinders dies (yay) and with them were the Holiday Trees Shapeabilities.

I decided to cut out two different sizes of trees and stamp them with the Old English text stamp - so perfect for Christmas!! in Shabby Shutters distress ink.

My paper, (once again I'm in love) is Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather and I sewed around the edges kind of willy nilly and then popped up the trees with dimensional dots.

I then added some red bling for Christmas lights! The sentiment is from the Waltzingmouse Stamp set called Seasons of Love - Tags. I stamped one of the little doodads first with Antique Linen distress ink and then the sentiment is stamped with Shabby Shutters distress ink.

And finally, a red bow finishes it off!

Thank you so much for your comments and for visiting today - please remember to jump around to the other designer's blogs and remember about our new two designers - Sandie and Joan - they cooked up deliciousness yesterday and no doubt have again today!

Waltzingmouse Sneak Peek - Day 1!

Well, good day and welcome to another few days of previews from Waltzingmouse Stamps new releases! AND a fun announcement - we have two new members joining our team and they are full of nervous excitement about this release!

Please make sure you welcome the talented Sandie Dunne from The Crafty Side of Me and the awesome Joan Bardee from Paperlicious to our team!

It always is so fun to show you all of the new things and get your reactions!! We have FIVE new sets being released this month and my card showcases three of the stamp sets - ooooo look at me go! lol!

I stamped the Big Blooms - Poinsettias onto my Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather designer paper and cut them out leaving a small border around the flowers. It kind of looks like a die-cut that way.

I added some shading to the leafs/petals with a  E43 copic marker and then added some beautiful ivory pearls in the center.

The backgrounder that is stamped on the Rustic Cream cardstock, is another new set called Text It. It has FOUR stamps that are all in the same text in different fonts and they are long enough to fit across an A2 size card - all 5 1/2"!!

The sentiment is from another new set being released this week, called Compliments of the Season. It is an array of Christmas Greetings in the beautiful fonts that you have grown to love from Waltzingmouse Stamps!

The bottom of the Rustic Cream cardstock was punched with my Martha Stewart deep edge punch - my new favourite!

I am entering this is the awesome challenge from Moxie Fab called The Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge! We all need to get started on those Christmas cards - this is a great way to start with a bang!!!

That's it for today from me, but make sure you travel around to everyone on the design team!! They have some awesomeness you won't want to miss!! and don't forget to come back tomorrow for another peek!

the chosen designs, post it to their blog or gallery and send
it to DRS Designs.

Once our invitation is accepted, they will receive a cool

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Happy World Card Making Day!!  You certainly don't have to look far to find things to inspire you today! Almost every on-line forum or stamp company or on-line store has something special to help you join in the fun!

Waltzingmouse Stamps is no different! We have a sweet little digi image for free - and if you use it in one of your crafty projects, you may just win a free stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps YAY!!... just check out Claire's blog for the details!

Okay our sketch is a fabulous one! It is so easy to be inspired by it in many different ways!! Here is the sketch:
and here is my creation!

I just received some wonderful Spellbinders dies - and I love them all....but I chose to use the mittens for this card.

I stamped the die cut mittens with the Knitted Backgrounds from Faux Fun! I have been wanting to do this since I got my Faux Fun background months ago! I am so happy that there is a die cut now that I can fulfill my fantasy with! (I know...I'm dull....)

I over stamped the top of the mittens with white ink so it looks like they are turned down.....and then added some snowflakes and buttons with twine to finish it off!

The sentiment is from the Very Vintage Christmas stamp set - I love "Warm Wishes" It just makes so much sense with mittens!!

And how about that twine to hold the mittens together? Do you remember those mittens in your coat - I remember immensely!!- my brother would pull one of the mittens so that the other one would scoot up around my back and get caught - and then the string would be so long that my mittens would be hanging out of the arms of my coat and dragging along the ground LOL!!
