WMS Preview Day #3!

Good morning and welcome to Day 3 of our Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release!

Today we are showcasing TWO sets - Dainty Doilies Large and Dainty Doilies Small! Yes there are doily sets out there is blog world ......do you sense a but?! lol! how about however....... not all sets have building stamps in them! - by that I mean these sets have extra pieces in them so you can build around the existing doilies!

I did not choose to build on my cards today but I know that the other designers have done so....

I have used the gorgeous doilies themselves to showcase for you! This first card used Dainty Doilies large - I love how these doilies actually match some of our other sets designs......so many interchangeable stamp sets!

I have used Plum Pudding  and Sweet Blush in this card along with Lavender Moon ribbon. The sweet bird is from a Stamping Up punch and it is in Prism cardstock.  All of these colours are closer in shades than it shows in the monitor - but I am sure you have had this happen to you too......dang monitors.... The sentiment is also from Dainty Doilies Large.

My second card uses Dainty Doilies Small and is a simple note card using SEI patterned paper, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores and Shimmer cardstock.

It is hard to see but I stamped one of the halves of one of the doilies onto the patterned paper twice (to make the whole doily) with Berry Sorbet ink and layered it with just a scalloped nestability and then stamped a smaller doily onto shimmer cardstock and popped it up onto the top of the doily layers!

The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases- a very easy stamp set to find the suitable sentiment you need!

Make sure you toot around to all of the designers' sites to see how they have showcased these two sets - they are fabulous!

Today I have made a baby shower invitation with a sort of vintage feel - pink and cream - just love it!

Even the safety pin is so real looking and all those little doo dads that Claire is so well known for - just works perfectly!

Keep following around to see the rest of the fabulous designers creations! I know they will blow your socks off!

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Preview Day 1!!!!

Oh my goodness - it feels great to be back previewing our newest stamps!!

I love the SOAP days but I also love the look, smell and taste ....huh? of our newest Waltzingmouse Stamps! I wanted to roll around on the floor with them and laugh all giddy like!! *insert maniacal snicker*......enough

Our first stamp preview is called "Gingham & Co." One of the many wonderful things I love about Claire is her imagination with naming these stamps!!

My card combines Gingham & Co. with Afternoon Tea Sentiments and Half Pint Heroes - I know - crazy isn't it?!!

I stamped the medium gingham stamp (I know - there are 3 different sizes of gingham!!)  on the bottom part of the card face with Versamark and then embossed it with a fine white embossing powder.

Then I stamped the car and the little trail behind the car with Versamark and embossed it it in white also!

I added some black polka dot ribbon and little black Zva crystals to the hub caps - because I would love crystals on MY hubcaps for sure!

The sentiment is a combo mambo of Afternoon Tea Sentiments and Half Pint Heroes.......isn't it fun?!!!

Now, in no particular order,oh - it is alphabetical by first name hee!! here is a list of who is previewing today - which is everyone!! Can you tell we are super excited about getting back in the action?!!

With Sympathy.....

Six days!! Good grief, I haven't posted for six days.... unforgivable!

I do have a good reason - I received my new releases of Waltzingmouse Stamps and have been playing up a storm so that you will be amazed at my cardmaking abilities when our sneak peeks start on April 28th - just two days away - wooooo!

I have a sympathy card for you today - I was playing around with my Asian Gardens and Asian Garden Additions and made this card.It seems like we need a few of these lately, unfortunately :(

I love the clean lines and the striking rich cocoa again the white - gorgeous!

I stamped the tree several times with Pine Needles distress ink and then cut out the "leaves" so I could pop them up on the tree.

Thanks for hanging in there with me! It's been a long, cold winter!

Paper Smooches!

LOVE Kim Hughes stamps and always have - I am so glad she is back! I have joined the Kit of the Month so I am sure to get every new stamp! yay!

I used the stamp set Spiffy Scooters and fussy cut out patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket for the fire out the back! The sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler and of course the beautiful Zva Creative Crystal flourishes!

I'm off to set up some cardmaking classes - wahoo!!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Hello and welcome to our montly Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz!! This month our theme is Easter and I've got a sweet project for you!

I was in Walmart a few weeks ago and I found these cute little lunch boxes, so I scooped them up for a future project!

I decided it would be so simple to decorate them for Easter and I could give each of my grandchildren one to use when we do our Easter Egg hunt!!

So using Spring Baskets, I stamped, coloured and cut out several eggs. Then using October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker, Schoolhouse and Campfire, I decorated the lunch boxes!

I also used a few dies to help along the way.

Then, using Basic Grey chipboard letters and Maya Mists, I spelled the name of each of the grandchildren and adhereed them to the lunchboxes!

The sentiment, also from Spring Baskets, was stamped and cut out using a Spellbinders scalloped die!

I hope you are having fun along the waltz!! Have a wonderful day!!

Mom.....

I love my mom......

Okay have a good day!  lol! Oh I just thought I would do up a card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge this week and this is the card I chose to make.

I received some wonderful new paper from Stampin' Up! this week called Paisley Petals and I love it!  I matched it up with the Very Vintage Labels 18 and  Roses in Bloom (using the "Mom" sentiment)

I decided to do some cutting of the flowers on this delicious patterned paper with my Fingertip Craft Knife, so I could slip the Spellbinders Labels 18 under the cuttings.

I added some wonderful Zva Creative Pearls cut up just the way I like it- because I am in LOVE with them - true story!

A bit of sponging around the edges and my beautiful card is done! yay! My mom and step dad just returned from Florida after being gone forEVER it seems - well - just 3 months but that is toooooo long!!

Love Chocolate!!

This week's Paper Romance Challenge was offered up by the fabulous Judy - and that is to make your own flowers!! I love flowers but I must say- to make my own - doesn't really fit into my schedule lol!

But I managed to pull one off - I used Betsy Veldman's tutorial here to make this fabulous flower!

I used vellum and then misted it with some Maya Mist to make it the beautiful colour it is!

My stamp is one of Kraftin' Kimmie's Miles Mouse stamps called "Birthday Friends" and I coloured it up so that beautifully gorgeous cake was chocolate!! yummy!

Take some time to travel around to the rest of the design teams blogs to see what kind of flowers they have created!!

Stamps: Miles Mouse Birthday Friends, My Favorite Things (sentiment)
Paper: Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients (January)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: vellum, Papertrey Ink button, My Favorite Things Sweet Blossom twine, Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles

WMS Sketch Challenge!

Good day and welcome to another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

We would like to challenge you to follow our sketch using any stamps you wish, and to post it to Mr. Linky on our challenge blog and you could be one of our top three mice!

Here is the sketch for the week - I think it's a pretty simple sketch this week - enabling you to work your magic!!

Here is my card using Afternoon Tea and Afternoon Tea Sentiments. The Zva Flourish is meant to be the steam from the kettle - aren't I soo soo clever??! Smiley from millan.net

I also used My Mind's Eye patterned papers. I just cut one piece in strips and using both sides of the paper, adhered the strips to my card base.

The little Dainty Lace Border is the finishing touch!

Thanks for coming around today!! We are off to the opening of our new Community Centre - free BBQ too - yummy!

You're my cherry on top!

This time it is Ria's turn to set the new Paper Romance Challenge and she chose a sweet one!!

It's a Recipe Challenge!
We would love to see you use:

4 embellies, 3 papers, 2 punches/dies, 1 image and 1 sentiment.

Paper Romance has many cute stamps and we would love to see you use one of them but if you don´t have any of them, then you're welcome to use any kind.

I decided to use Cherry Chip Chimp for my challenge card today - and as per the challenge, here is what I used.

4 - embellies - pearls, bling, ribbon and a die cut
3 papers - I actually used the same line - makes it so much easier to match up papers! I used Echo Park "Life is good" designer paper - and you know what??!! They are coming out with 6 x 6 paper pads - I couldn't be MORE excited!!!
2 punches/dies - yeh, I might have slipped on this one - I did use the PTI doily die and the Spellbinders tag die - but I cut the end off of the tag die to make my rectangle - so I guess it works!
1 image and 1 sentiment - not as hard as you think it might be -

So give it a try won't you?! We pick the top three creations and they get a top three Blinkie for their blog!! Then, at the end of the month, those top picks from all month will be in the running to win a gift certificate from Paper Romance!!

Thanks for coming around today!

Final Day of SOAP and an announcement!

Here is our final day of SOAP for Waltzingmouse Stamps! We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have......there is a special announcement on Claire's blog today and at the bottom of this post, along with a small competition to wrap up the SOAP!

So on to my creation for today! We have been showing you last month's releases for the first three days and now we are going to showcase an older set that is just as lovely and certainly just as versatile and that is Spring Baskets!!!

I used one of the beautiful basket's in the stamp set and coloured it Easter Egg pink (I am sure there is a colour like that!) and filled it with the stamped eggs! As some of you know, we have many layers that we gather eggs from every day, so I love this addition to the stamp set!!

I cut it out with the Spellbinders Lacey Circles and aged it with Chamomile and Chai inks. My designer paper is from the beautiful Kaiser Craft 6 x 6 paper pad called Chanteuse.

Zva Creative Flourishes, some dainty doily die cuts and my homemade wrinkled ribbon finishes it off beautifully!! Happy Spring!!

Please make your way around to the other designer's fabulous creations and as you can see we have three new designers joining our team!! Niki Estes, Tosha Leyendekker and Kate Whelan!! Welcome girls!

Waltzingmouse Stamps SOAP Day #3

Good day to you!

By now I think you know how the Waltzingmouse SOAP (Stamp of Approval Parade) works so I will just get into my card for the day, which is actually a creation that will go with Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge 40 and Sketch Challenge 41!!

I used WMS Vintage Banners stamped in Ranger Ink NEW Victorian Velvet and then hand cut (because I am still wahhh! waiting for my Spellbinders dies) with my little Fiskars pinking scissors.

The patterned paper is Prima Melody 6 x 6 paper pad and cut out and adhered to a small paper bag from Wal-mart!

I tied some ribbon around the patterned paper and then added the bow with the banner image. The sentiment is from Bountiful Basket Additions and really fit perfectly into the circle area.

The butterfly is from the Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch - love the daintiness of this punch!

Please make sure you take a look at all the designers that have made creations especially for you!!

Waltzingmouse Stamps SOAP Day #2

Good day and welcome to another SOAP Preview - SOAP meaning Stamp of Approval Parade - we showcase the previous month's stamps for your pleasure and inspiration!!

AND - we get to play with them for two whole months yay!!

For these four days we are showcasing Back in the Saddle, Way Out West, Bitty Banners and Vintage Banners and Very Vintage Labels 18.

Today I am showcasing Back in the Saddle - again - I love this set along with Way Out West and Bitty Banners!

I made a card that could pass as a masculine Get Well card, something I am so bad at making!

Using Smokey Shadow ink on the whole card, I inked up the woodgrain border from Way Out West and stamped my background.  I stamped the cowboy from Back in the Saddle and run some stitching along behind him.

Then I stamped one of the little banners from Bitty Banners and popped up the sentiment on top - the edges are all distressed - because I am sure that men like that lol!

Please take some time to see what the other fabulous designers have put together especially for you!

Waltzingmouse Stamps SOAP

  •
  •
  • What does SOAP mean? It means Stamp of Approval Parade!
  •
  • Beginning April 1st (today), the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team
  • will be posting projects
  • that are from our March release!
  •
  • Claire has decided that instead of a new release every month,
  • that we will release stamps one month
  • and then have a SOAP
  • on the following month to review the previous month's stamps - clear as mud??!!
  •
  • The reasoning behind this, and I am sure you will agree,
  • is because of the time it takes for some customers to receive their stamps,
  • they barely receive them when the next new release is upon them.
  •
  • This way you can have at least another month to play with your stamps (as can we!! yay!)
  • before the next new batch of stamps are released!
  •
  • So for this SOAP, we are previewing Back in the Saddle, Way Out West, Bitty Banners, Very Vintage Labels 18, & Vintage Banners!
  •
  •   I have used a combination of Way out West and Back in the Saddle for my card (which I can't get moved down here).....I love the scene!
  •
  • These are the girls that are joining in on our Stamp of Approval Parade today...
  • please make sure to head off to their blogs to see the loveliness they have provided for you!
  •
  • Anya Schrier
  • Belinda Chang Langner
  • Bonnie Sharp
